Hello Forum

A friend of mine recently suggested that I start a blog, so here I am. I've never used one before, so hopefully there aren't any unspoken rules regarding what is posted, otherwise I'll probably break them. Anyway, last weekend I turned 18 and I can't believe how little of a difference it has made on my everyday life. I wasn't expecting some kind of a fireworks show or anything like that, but i certainly thought it would be more momentous than it is. In fact, I actually hate the point of life that I'm at right now. I feel like I should be treated with respect, and be able to make my own decisions. Legally, I can do whatever I want, but in needing food, shelter, and money to pay for college, I'm still just as bound to my parents as I was all last year. Right now is really just a countdown...a countdown to when I no longer need anything from my parents. I'm not saying that they're bad parents, I'm just saying that I hate having to pretend to respect every decision that they make. Sovereignty, hurry your ass up.

  2. Thanks David, I really appreciate that. I wasn't sure if I should do it or not but I was bored tonight and I thought "Why not?"
